Theluji is a Swahili word for “snow”. The theme of the Rwenzori-Theluji (snow) festival is “celebrating diversity around the Rwenzori snow mountain as a potential for sustainable trade and investment development by showcasing real solutions and opportunities” The Festival presents opportunities for sustainable trade and investment development by strategically positioning Kasese as a logistical hub for trade and investment in the Rwenzori region, Uganda as well as Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

This will be achieved through turning around the industrial park in Kasese district as a strategic border market and one business center making Kasese the epicenter of Uganda’s logistical hub for trade and investments and enhancing the promotion of strategic players such as Uganda airlines in tapping into the DRC air travel clientele. Rwenzori region and its proximity hosts a number of tribes involved in various activities ranging from business, crop production to cattle raring harnessing the natural beauty and resources endowment along the wildlife and other natural resources. Both activities provide raw materials to trade and investment ventures and contribute to household income and economic development of the region and country. Besides, culture is embraced through trade, business and investment, nature and ecosystems biodiversity conservation, and promotes peace and coexistence and economic empowerment.
